Master Ji Ru to Lead One Day Meditation Retreat Sat. Feb. 9

ImageEveryone’s been asking…”when will the Abbot be back?” So, we have good news! He’ll be here in just a few weeks!

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the center is pleased to announce that Master Ji Ru will lead a one day retreat focused on developing a more intensive meditation practice. This is a great opportunity to spend a day of focused instruction with a real meditation master. You will leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the practical applications and benefits of meditation practice for your every day life as well as improved abilities for concentration and attention. The retreat is open to all who have a fundamental understanding of meditation practice. If you are new to practice, you need to come to the center before the retreat, on any of our other meditation session days and learn the basic technique. All of the weekly sessions at the center are free.
The retreat will begin at 6am and end at 5pm. Light vegetarian breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. The retreat schedule to be announced later.

We need a solid head count in order to plan for food and in order to help the Abbot prepare for you, so, please be sure you register in advance.

Spanish translation available. Please let us know if you would like to have translation We are happy to provide it.

Please know that the $30 donation is not the important thing. Most of all, we want you to attend and develop your meditation practice for the benefit of all beings. If the donation is a hardship, please attend the retreat and feel free to make what donation you can. Finding our liberation together is the most important thing. We look forward to practicing together with you all.

If you are coming from far away and would like to stay overnight at the center, please let me know and we can arrange that.

This is a very special event because it’s the only retreat Shifu will be leading this winter. Normally, all the monastics take a three month winter retreat to deepen their own practice through meditation, research and study. They serve the community 9 months and take three to re-charge. So this will be your only chance to practice with the Abbot till spring. We hope that for the benefit of all beings that many of you will be able to join us for a day of peaceful cultivation.
